Let’s just say it: Menopause is a sneaky little bastard.
One day you’re vibing, drinking Pinot Grigio, flicking your glossy hair and laughing in full sentences.
The next, you’re standing in the kitchen wondering why you came in here, with one tit in your bra, one out, crying because the kettle looks sad.
And that’s on a good day.
Your body’s changing. Your moods have gone feral. Your jeans don’t fit unless they were forged by NASA. Your memory’s shot, your sleep’s a myth, and your libido’s… well, missing presumed dead.
AND YET –
Somewhere in the midst of this hormonal chaos, society still expects us to look young, feel positive, stay thin, be grateful, keep working, never sweat, always smile and definitely not scream into a pillow while licking Biscoff off a spoon at 11PM.
But here’s the truth no one printed on a mug:
Menopause doesn’t make us less.
It just makes us… louder, leakier, and a little more dangerous.
And that, my friend, is power.
Self-acceptance in menopause isn’t some soft-focus Instagram mantra with a fern leaf and fairy lights.
It’s looking at yourself — bloated, ragey, covered in hormonal chin hair – and saying:
“Yep. I still fucking love me.”
It’s deciding that thigh chafing doesn’t cancel your brilliance.
That brain fog doesn’t erase your intelligence.
That dry vagina and all, you are still divine.
And you do not owe anyone youth, politeness, or a flat stomach.
This next phase? It’s not a slow fade into irrelevance.
It’s a glorious rebirth.
Yes, a bit sweaty.
Yes, a bit stabby.
Yes, you may fall asleep mid-Zoom and wake up holding half a biscuit.
But you are still here. Still becoming. Still worthy. Still you.
So no, I may not roar these days.
But I will snore loudly in a chair at 3PM, while wearing fleece socks, burning a Jo Malone candle, and giving zero shits about anyone’s opinion.
Because I am a strong, fierce, independent woman. And this version?
Well, she’s fucking unstoppable.
